Benefits of List Building

Before I get into the meat of this training, I wanted to talk about WHY list building should be at the core of any money making endeavour online.

I know it is spoken about time and time again, so much so it has almost become a cliché.

But it is essential you are fully on-board with this fact before we continue.

Having a list provides you with two fundamental things:

FIRSTLY: Readymade traffic to any offer you are promoting – send a message to a list of 10,000 people and you are guaranteed to get a number of those check out what you are promoting.

Importantly this traffic is both free and instantaneous.

OK, you may have invested funds to build the list in the first place (although I will be showing you later how you can do it for nothing), but once the list is built you can go back to it, again and again, to provide traffic to your offers/promotions.

SECONDLY: Readymade traffic with a defined interest – you will have built your list by offering a product or service that will be of interest to a certain section of the population. 

For example, if you offer a PDF with smoothie recipes to help lose weight, you know that people who want to lose weight will have signed up and are on your list.

And if you know that information, you know what offers will interest/help them…

the equivalent of shooting fish in a barrel 🙂

So, in summary, if you build a list, you have a collection of people with a certain interest that you can contact at any time.

Just to illustrate this further, let me use an offline analogy.

Imagine you sold merchandise for a sports team. 

You could get ‘generic’ traffic to view your wares by standing in your local shopping centre.

You MIGHT get a few sales, but the vast majority of the people passing by (your traffic) will have no interest in the team and therefore won’t be interested in buying.

Even those who may have an interest in the team might not want to merchandise at that time.

In other words, if passers-by (traffic) don’t buy you will not see them again.

i.e. you are only getting one chance to sell to them.

Now imagine, you agree to display your wares in front of the team’s stadium every time they play there.

(The equivalent of having your list and communicating with them on a regular basis)

Now, not only are you guaranteed that the vast majority of all the people passing (the traffic) WILL have an interest in your wares…

…you also know that if they purchase a hat from you today, they might want a scarf the next time you are there or the time after that.

Obviously the most efficient and effective method of selling your merchandise will be by getting it in front of those who you already know have an interest

and this is multiplied by getting the merchandise in front of this audience on multiple occasions.

When you build a list, this is EXACTLY what you are able to do.
