It never fails to amaze me, when and where motivation can come from.
A good example of this was at the weekend.
I was watching a football (soccer) preview show and they featured a chap who is going to do the up and coming London marathon for charity.
Nothing too exciting there you would think.
Let’s face it in this day and age people running marathons for charity is nothing special (even though if you have actually done a marathon, you will know it is a BLOODY long way…I have and it is!).
No, what caught my attention was that this chap was 91!
Yes, that isn’t a typo he was 91 and has completed over a 100 marathons.
Now that would be special enough but there is more.
And this is what really did it for me…
…the guy didn’t do his first marathon until he was 60.
Again that isn’t me mistyping…this guy was in his 60s before he did his first marathon.
How cool is that.
When most other people are thinking about retirement and how they have missed the boat with regards to trying new things, this chap thought, “You know what I’ve never run a marathon, I think I’ll give it a go”…
…and 30 years later (!!) he is still going.
Frankly that gave me a kick up the backside.
Although not 90, I’m a lot closer than I used to be 😉 and I have been guilty in the past of thinking it was too late in life to try certain things.
That argument is buried 6 feet under when you consider our 90 year old marathon runner.
So the moral of the story is don’t ever think it is too late for you to start anything, you’ve got a lot more time than you think.
Now if you excuse me, I’m just going out for a quick run round the block…

If you have been struggling with list building, and think it is too late to start trying to build a list, I think you might like the blueprint I found.
