Marketers will often write their sales copy and mails to make out that everything online is a breeze…
Everyone can do it, that say.
Even my granny could succeed with this, they state.
My pet poodle could make a million with this system (ok, I made that one up…but you get the point).
They all seem to be busting a gut to create this illusion that making serious income online is a piece of cake.
And do you know what, in a way they are right and in a way they are a world away from reality.
As an example, earlier this year, I had what I thought was a great idea for an offer that I thought would help a lot of people.
About six weeks ago I started to make my thought a reality.
In my head I pictured the sort of funnel I wanted.
Very simple and based on stuff I knew.
In my head I thought two weeks to get the new funnel up and running was more than enough, and set that as my launch date.
Fast forward to today when I actually launched the offer…
…a full 4 weeks after I thought it would be available!!

The delay can be put down to various factors, some online and some offline…and not all business related.
Because I knew how to build a funnel and had done it many times before I underestimated just how much time I would need to build something from scratch.
This in turn resulted in me giving myself a hard time (yes even when you have been around a bit it doesn’t make you immune from a bit of self-bashing!).
Add to this the none-business factors and you have a whole lot of frustration.
So much so that there were days when I got so focused on the treacle I was wading through, I lost sight of the end game.
If I hadn’t had the success I have already experienced I could quite easily have thought, ‘oh sod it’ and just gone and browsed WF or Facebook a bit more.
Fortunately I did get on with it, which means I have now released something that has taken ‘blood, sweat and tears’ but is something I am very proud of.
And do you know what, that 4 weeks is already forgotten about.
I’m now at the point that you would recognise from all that sales copy you have read in the past.
This is the bit that marketers promote!
I am sitting back, music on, coffee and a rather nice piece of cake in hand, just watching the positive results of my efforts drop into my inbox…
…and I know when I watch a bit of telly with the better half this evening, the sale confirmations will still be coming in.
It doesn’t get much easier than that 🙂
So my message to you today is if you are thinking about putting something out there…
…it may very well be harder than you first thought.
But please don’t let that stop you, because in the long run your efforts will be repaid over and over again.
