I hope the last two post’s traffic creation information has been helpful. Today I want to explore a technique that introduces a viral element into your traffic creation and is probably my favourite of the lot.
The technique I have in mind involves turning your customers into affiliates.
The traditional view of affiliates is that they help you sell stuff, in return for giving them a percentage of any sales made.
And of course this is part of the story.
However most people will tend to focus on the sales income side of things.
The strategy I’m looking at here needs you to reframe that thought, so that you concentrate on the traffic that the affiliate brings, rather than the income.
OK, with that in mind, you are now going to make sure your sales funnel (with its free front end) is promoted to potential affiliates via your download page.
On the download page, as well as the link to download their gift, you will also include a section that states something like:
Do you want to earn a potential $xx (total amount an affiliate could earn from the complete sales funnel), by simply offering your subscribers a quality free gift? If so click here now to partner with me (include your affiliate request link).
The psychology in play here is that if the subscriber has liked your offer enough to sign up for it, they will understand that their subscribers might also like it.
This fact added to the fact that they can also earn extra income for just giving something away, will ensure a significant percentage will sign up as an affiliate.
To ensure this works really well, you can offer more commission on the upsells to make your offer as attractive as possible to marketers.
Remember your focus needs to be on the traffic being brought in rather than the income made on the funnel.
Every affiliate you sign up, is going to be a potential source of traffic, and therefore a potential source of new subscribers…
…and every new subscriber becomes a potential affiliate.
In effect you are setting up your own perpetual list building machine.
Once you have some initial sales, the whole process is pretty much hands free as the affiliate and subscribers build.
This system works particularly well in conjunction with the free WSO strategy technique discussed in my first traffic creation mail.
The free WSO provides the initial traffic momentum. Eventually you get enough subscribers and therefore affiliates to make the whole thing self-perpetuating.
Of course not all subscribers will become affiliates, but you only need one or two active affiliates to makes sure the process gets a life of its own.
I personally have lost count of the number of clicks on my offers and therefore new subscribers and therefore income this technique has brought me in…
…and all for the addition of a link on your download page(s).
