Day 1 Of The Buyer Traffic Casestudy And The Background: 07/02/22

If I had to do a league table of the questions I get asked by clients and subscribers, at the top of the pile (by quite some way) would be “How do I get traffic to my offer?“
And I can totally understand why this is the most popular question.
It doesn’t matter how good your offer is, without traffic you are dead in the water!
No Traffic = No Sales = No Income
So whenever I see something that promotes itself as a way of creating traffic to my offers, I’m all ears.
I’m always happy to invest some of my funds and time to test methods and techniques.
After all, one good system can create $1000’s of added income over the lifetime of its use.
So when I saw someone write about a new offer that had come to market promising not only traffic…
… but also ‘buyer’ traffic, I knew it was something I had to at least checkout.
If you are not already familiar with the benefits of buyer traffic – in other words, individuals who had already purchased something – the fact is that buyers, buy 🙂
Therefore buyers on your list are worth significantly more than the subscribers who sign up for a free gift.
This is not to say you should ignore the freebie seeker as they can be converted into a buyer, it just takes more time and effort.
Going back to the offer in question, the tiny fee – $4.90 (which the vendor promises will be grandfathered’ for the lifetime of the offer) made it a no-brainer to try out.
Just to take a step back for context, if I purchased a solo ad to send to one of my offers, I would expect to achieve around a 40% conversion rate.
i.e. for every 100 people that get sent to the squeeze page, 40 would go ahead and sign up.
Now, if we consider an average solo ad would cost around $50, we can see that the cost for a new subscriber would be:
Number of new subscribers = 100 clicks x 40% = 40
Cost to add those new subscribers = $50
Therefore the cost for each new subscriber = $50/40 = $1.25
So as you can see, if the system could create subscribers at below $1.25 I would be bettering these average solo ad costs.
(BTW, I’m quite happy to invest these sums as I know that the average I make over the lifetime of a subscriber being with me is much more than the cost of adding the subscriber in the first place).
My Investment
OK, so now you have some background as to why the offer appealed to me, let me go through exactly how much I invested to get involved.
“Hang on Andy“, I hear you say, ” you just said it only cost $4.90?!“
…and that is correct, but I wanted to be completely transparent with this case study and give you the full story.
So, yes, the investment to get involved IS $4.90
However, the first thing to note is that the $4.90 is a monthly fee.
Still not a huge amount, and from my point of view, if it only added 5 new quality subscribers a month (in other words less than $1 per subscriber added to my list), I would be happy to pay this.
Secondly, there is an initial upsell (there are two upsells in the funnel, but only the first one interested me), and this was a one-off investment of $14.90 to double the exposure to my offer(s).
Again from my point of view, this still was a tiny amount to invest to trial something that could create significant benefit.
So I went for it, making my total investment just under $20.
What You Get
The principle is as simple as you like, for your investment, you get your link added to a rotator that gets promoted to a list of buyers.
Now I’m not yet quite sure who these buyers are, I plan to get in touch with the vendor to ask this question for completeness, but my guess is it’ll be something to do with the people who actually sign up for the offer (just my guess though – and frankly who cares if it creates the promised results 🙂 ).
And that is it!
It really is a hands-off system.
You provide your link, and the system provides the clicks.
I had to smile to myself as the system was as good as its word in terms of how easy it was to implement. In fact, its simplicity might put some people off as they might think how could something so straightforward work so well.
Your Requirements
From the point of view of what you need to do, or have set up, the requirements are minimal, namely:
Have something to offer (I strongly suggest this is a free gift to attract people to sign up to your list)
You can send people straight to an offer, but without building any sort of relationship, I would suggest this is just going to be wasted clicks.
What I would suggest is to have a funnel behind your free offer with related upsells.
Even if these are only low cost, you are only going to need to create a tiny number of these upsells to cover the cost of the traffic, and in effect make the traffic free!
The offer you provide also has to be in the IM/MMO niches.
Once you sign up, Jeff has recorded a video to explain how it works and tells you where to communicate the link(s) that you want to add into his system.
He also explains that as he adds the links manually there might be a slight delay between you sending your request in and it being added to the system.
The other top tip he suggests is to send the link in the form of a ‘click tracker’, this way you are able to amend the offer you are sending the clicks to without having to get Jeff to amend anything.
Jeff suggests one free click tracker you can use. I personally used a free simple WordPress plugin called ClickerVolt. It doesn’t really matter what you use, but the click tracker route is definitely one I recommend for full flexibility.
My Stats So Far
The plan is I intend to let you see my actual results over the coming days/weeks, to see how I got along with the system.
So with that said, I signed up on Friday 04/02/22 and requested my link addition later that day. I don’t know exactly how long it took Jeff to add my link, but I was starting to see traffic by the following day (Saturday).
So, first thing this morning (07/02/22, just over two full days later), the stats for my link are:
Number of clicks received: 41
Number of unique clicks received: 38
New subscribers: 4
Value of upsells: n/a
(It should be stated that I have more expensive upsells and therefore I wasn’t necessarily expecting many/any sales)
Current cost per subscriber:
Total Investment / Total New Subscribers
$19:80 / 4 = $4.95
(This does include the optional one-off upsell investment of $14.90, so will reduce over the lifetime of the membership)
I should also add that the subscribers are all US-based, ao the highest value type of subscribers.
So in summary, it is only early days (2 and a bit days in) but I have to say the signs are good. 🙂

Day 2 Of The Buyer Traffic Casestudy: 08/02/22
Overnight saw another 30 clicks (26 of which were unique), on this occasion no new subscribers were added.
Although a little disappointing, I had never expected new subscribers every day. Even if I average a delegate every two days (that would mean I would still be picking up subscribers at only $0.33 each), I’ll be more than happy with this 🙂
Quantity is not the only thing I wanted to investigate, I also wanted to understand the quality of the subscribers. It is common for the subscribers who come from solos to be totally unresponsive once on your list, and therefore worse than useless.
One way of checking this is to see if they actually make the effort to download your offer.
In terms of the 4 subscribers added to my list via Click Engine, 3 of the 4 have downloaded the gift that attracted them.
This has given me a warm feeling that not only are the subscribers I’ve added so far from a Tier 1 country (the US), they also responsive and active which bodes well for the future 🙂

Day 4 Of The Buyer Traffic Casestudy: 10/02/22
At the time of writing, I have now received 103 unique clicks on my offer. So it seems that the Click Engine is creating about 20-30 clicks to my offer each day.
The conversions are not great – no further subscribers, but I was expecting this as there is no pre-selling of the offer.
So, if you are testing out the source for yourself and you don’t want to sqew your conversion stats for your offer you might want to create a duplicate squeeze page to send the Click Engine traffic to.
Day 5 Of The Buyer Traffic Casestudy: 11/02/22 – More Success
Today has seen another 30 or so unique clicks, but more importantly, 3 more subscribers 🙂
The stats now then look like this:

New subscribers: 7

I had always seen anything above 5 new active subcribers a month as being worth keeping the membership going. Therefore from my point of view, this is going to be an ongoing membership of mine running in the background dripping new subscribers onto my list.
I will however be continuing with the case study for a while yet to give you a complete longer-term view of the service.

14/02/2022 Update: The Buyer Traffic Casestudy
Today has seen another 52 or so unique clicks over the weekend which resulted in another subscriber.
The stats now then look like this:

New subscribers: 8

The test has been running now for around 10 days and seems to be consistently creating in the region of 20 clicks a day, with just under a subscriber a day.
Extrapolating that forward that is going to equate to 20 or so new subscribers per month. OK, not huge numbers, but for something that runs completely handsfree alongside my other efforts, dripping in subscribers for the $4.90 a month (plus one-off initial $14.90) I’m quickly becoming a fan 🙂

I’m now up to a total of 256 unique clicks sent to my offer, resulting in 10 extra new subscribers.

23/02/2022 Update: The Buyer Traffic Casestudy
So, I’m around two weeks into my experiment, and The Click Engine is consistently sending me just over 20 unique clicks a day resulting in (on average) a subscriber a day as you can see from the screenshot I took today.
…so my prediction of the system creating around 20 new subscribers for the month, seems might be a little on the low side. And that’s fine with me 🙂
The stats now then look like this:

Number of unique clicks received: 379
New subscribers: 15
Value of upsells: n/a
(It should be stated that I have more expensive upsells and therefore I wasn’t necessarily expecting many/any sales)
Current cost per subscriber:

I’m anticipating that by the end of the month, the subscribers should work out costing in the region of between $1.00 and $0.66.
(And if the same sort of results are created next month, and I have no reason for thinking they won’t, this figure should reduce to somewhere around $0.20 – due to the fact that my only outlay is the $4.90 membership fee, without the one-off $14.90 upgrade I invested in when I joined.)

02/03/2022 Update: The Buyer Traffic Casestudy
It looks like my ongoing case study has shown both my hopes AND my fears coming in, has to one degree or another, come true.
The bad news is, the conversion rates for the traffic my offer received from the Click Engine, were a long way short of what is alluded to on the salepage – no surprise there then.
For the offer I used, the conversion rate has consistently bumped along just under 4%.
HOWEVER, and this is the good news! You do get a shed load of visitors.
Since I started the experiment, around three weeks ago, I have received 525 clicks, of which 481 have been unique (and most. if not all from Tier 1 countries).
More importantly, this has resulted in me adding 20 new subscribers to my list.
Now, remember the subscription for this traffic source is just $4.90 (I also paid the $14.90 one-off upgrade for a lifetime doubling of the offers I can have included).
This means currently the subscribers I have added, have cost me $19.80/20 = $0.99
I’m thinking by the end of the first month, the number will be between 25-30, so the cost per subscriber then, taking the lower number, will be $0.79.
Next month, when I only pay the $4.90 membership, the cost for a similar number of subscribers is going to drop to less than $0.20 each!
(considering cost per subscriber from solo ads these days is getting up towards the $2 per new subscriber, you can see the real value here)
So my judgment is, I’m DEFINITELY continuing with the membership
(I had a reminder in my diary today to analyse the stats and make a decision on whether or not I continued with my membership).
Yes, it will provide a steady trickle of new subscribers.
Yes, it is going to provide those subscribers at not very much.
Yes, it truly runs in the background with little/no input from you (once you provide the link(s) you want to be promoted)
On the downside…
No, it is not going to be THE answer to all your traffic issues
…and it will skew your conversions, so it might be a good idea to use a version of your funnel specifically for The Click Engine.
The next step for me is that I’m seriously considering looking into signing up again to see if it will further increase the number of new subscribers the offer can add to my list.
I will keep this case study up to date with if I can, and do progress in this way.

The screenshot above has been taken from Warriorplus rather than my click tracker, but as you can see, the number of subscribers is now up to 22 (I am split testing two designs of squeeze page, hence the two lines).
Also you will notice I have now made my first sale, so my stats now look like this:

New subscribers: 22

This means my investment this month has been $4.90-$7.00 = -$2.10
Or in other words, not only did the new subscribers cost me nothing, they actually added $2.10 to my income 🙂
